Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) raised the bar for monochrome multifunction products (MFPs) today by announcing the new and improved The e-STUDIO523T/603T/723T family shares all the same product features as the e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 series, with the added convenience of tandem 1,250-sheet letter paper cartridges, effectively doubling the printing output capacity between paper refills in the same MFP footprint. "Toshiba's e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 and their 'T' counterparts are built upon a proven productivity and reliability platform that our large workgroup monochrome MFPs have become renown for," said Joe Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS. "By incorporating Windows Vista support and extended security into these fast, efficient and highly versatile machines, we are empowering businesses with the ability to meet all their high-volume print needs." Proven Technology, Outstanding Image Quality and Impressive Performance The Toshiba e-STUDIO523/603/723 and their T equivalents offer print speeds of 52, 60 and 72 pages-per-minute respectively, while the e-STUDIO853 prints at a blistering 85 pages-per-minute, ensuring efficient document output throughout the product line. All models scan at 71 scans-per-minute at 600 dpi when copying, and 83 scans-per-minute at 300 dpi when scanning to file. The e-STUDIO853 features a first-copy-out-time (FCOT) of less than 3.5 seconds, with rest of the product family close behind with a less than four second FCOT. Incorporating Toshiba's e-BRIDGE single-board architecture, the e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 series uses a single circuit board to control copying, printing, scanning and other functionality to decrease memory overhead and improve print time. Additionally, a dual-speed paper handling system slows down the paper while it passes through the process unit and makes up the speed elsewhere to maintain performance. Native Windows Vista Support Working closely with Microsoft, Toshiba's new e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 and e-STUDIO523T/603T/723T family of products provide Windows Vista-specific printing enhancements in the form of XPS Print Path drivers, Windows Color System support and Windows Vista WS print and scan support, while remaining 100 percent backwards-compatible with existing deployments. This XPS format integration offers full printer functionality and enables users to print 2007 Microsoft Office system documents directly to the MFP without the wasted overhead of file conversion. Improved Security Features Continuing the legacy of being one of the most protected MFPs on the market, the e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 and e-STUDIO523T/603T/723T series offer advanced security features, including support for IPv6, IPSec, SSL, SNMPv3, 802.1x authentication, providing secure management and network communications. Additionally, the entire product family includes Encrypted PDF, allowing users to add a password when creating scanned PDFs, to prevent unauthorized viewing or printing.
